KIDS MINISTRY
Helping Children
Know and Love Christ
We want children to learn the Bible, know the Gospel, grow in truth, and understand that they are an important part of the church family.
FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES
A Place to Learn, Grow, and Belong
Children need more than entertainment. They need truth, loving adults, and a church family that points them toward Jesus Christ.
Our goal is to help children understand the Bible in an age-appropriate way while reinforcing the role of parents as the primary spiritual influence in the home.
We want kids to know they are welcomed, cared for, and included in the life of Rockwall Baptist Church.
WHAT CHILDREN EXPERIENCE
Bible-Centered. Safe. Encouraging.
Everything should help children understand truth and feel at home in the church.
Bible Teaching
Clear, age-appropriate lessons that help children understand Scripture and the Gospel.
Caring Leaders
Adults who care about children, families, and faithful biblical instruction.
Meaningful Fellowship
Opportunities to build friendships, learn together, and participate in church life.
Family Connection
A ministry that supports parents rather than replacing their role.
TEACH THEM THE WORD
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children...”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 — KJV
WHAT WE TEACH
Truth Children Can Build Their Lives On
Who God Is
Children learn about God's holiness, love, power, wisdom, and faithfulness.
Who Jesus Is
Children learn that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Saviour, and the center of the Gospel.
Why We Need Salvation
Children are taught clearly about sin, grace, repentance, faith, and salvation through Christ.
How to Read the Bible
Kids learn that God's Word is true, important, and worth reading and obeying.
How to Pray
Children are encouraged to pray honestly, give thanks, and depend on God.
How to Live for Christ
Truth is connected to obedience, kindness, honesty, respect, and faithfulness.
PARTNERING WITH PARENTS
Parents Matter Most
The church should support the home, not compete with it.
Parents are the primary spiritual influence in a child's life. Our role is to reinforce biblical truth, provide faithful teaching, and encourage parents as they disciple their children.
We want families to grow together, worship together, and build a home centered on Jesus Christ.
FIRST TIME WITH KIDS?
We Will Help You Know Where to Go
You do not need to figure everything out before you arrive.
Arrive
Come a few minutes early and let someone know it is your first visit.
Ask
We will help you find the appropriate class or ministry area for your child.
Relax
If you prefer to keep your child with you, families are welcome to worship together.
SAFETY & CARE
We Take the Care of Children Seriously
Parents should be able to feel confident that children are treated with care and respect.
Ministry areas should be organized, leaders should understand their responsibilities, and parents should always know where their children are.
If you have a question about a class, teacher, schedule, or ministry practice, please ask. We want parents to feel informed and comfortable.
FOR PARENTS
Questions Are Welcome
Ask about classes, teachers, schedules, check-in expectations, or anything else that helps you feel prepared.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Learn the Bible in an Age-Appropriate Setting
Sunday School gives children the opportunity to learn Scripture in a smaller group setting.
Lessons can be adapted to the age and understanding of the children while keeping the content rooted in the Bible.
If you are unsure which class is right for your child, we will be glad to help.

Children Are Not Separate from Church Life
We want kids to understand that church is not just a program for adults.
Children should grow up seeing believers worship, serve, pray, fellowship, and live out their faith together.
Our desire is that children grow from being taught the Bible to personally trusting Christ, following Him, and eventually serving faithfully themselves.
LET THE CHILDREN COME
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not...”
Mark 10:14 — KJV
