Rockwall Baptist Church is a local church body of believers in Jesus Christ. Membership is a biblical identification with this local assembly for worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, and the work of the Gospel.

How Do You Become a Member of Rockwall Baptist Church?
Biblical church membership identifies a saved and baptized believer with a particular local body where Christians worship, serve, grow, and carry out the Great Commission together.
Membership is not a website account, a mailing-list subscription, or merely having your name on a church roll. It is membership in the local body of believers.
At Rockwall Baptist Church, there are three basic ways a person may become a member.

THREE WAYS TO MEMBERSHIP
One Local Church. Three Biblical Paths.
These are the three ways a person may be received into the membership of Rockwall Baptist Church.
SALVATION & BAPTISM
Saved Now, Then Baptized
This is for a person who is saved now and then follows the Lord in believer's baptism.
After personally trusting Jesus Christ as Saviour, the believer is scripturally baptized by immersion and received into the membership of the local church.
TRANSFER OF LETTER
From a Church of Like Faith
This is for a saved and scripturally baptized believer who is transferring membership from another church of like faith.
Upon transfer of letter, the believer's membership is received from the former church into Rockwall Baptist Church.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Saved Previously, No Current Membership
This is for a person who professes to have been saved and scripturally baptized previously, but has no current church membership elsewhere.
When there is no church from which a letter can be transferred, the person may be received upon a satisfactory statement of salvation and baptism.
BEFORE MEMBERSHIP
Salvation Comes First
Church membership cannot save a person. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
A person should know that he or she has personally trusted Christ as Saviour before seeking membership in the local church.
If you are unsure about your salvation, that is the first question to settle.

Membership in a Local Body
Membership is a commitment to Christ and to the life, doctrine, fellowship, and work of the local church.
Assemble
Gather faithfully with the church for worship, preaching, teaching, prayer, and fellowship.
Grow
Grow in grace through Scripture, prayer, discipleship, and obedience.
Serve
Use your gifts, time, abilities, and opportunities to strengthen the church body.
Go
Help carry the Gospel locally, nationally, and around the world.

UNITED IN FAITH
Members Should Know What the Church Believes
Membership joins a believer to a particular local church, so agreement in doctrine and direction matters.
Members should understand the church's biblical convictions, support its ministry, and seek to preserve unity in truth and Christian love.

IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND
Membership Does Not Make You a Christian
A person is saved by Jesus Christ, not by joining Rockwall Baptist Church or any other church.
Membership Does Not Save
Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Baptism Follows Salvation
Baptism is an act of obedience for a believer, not the means by which a sinner is saved.
Membership Means Belonging
It identifies a believer with a local church body for worship, fellowship, growth, and service.
