NATIONAL MISSIONS
Reaching America
With the Gospel
Our nation is still a mission field. Rockwall Baptist Church desires to help carry the Gospel beyond our own community by supporting faithful Gospel work across the United States.
A NATION IN NEED OF THE GOSPEL
Mission Work Does Not Stop at the City Limits
The United States contains thousands of communities, neighborhoods, cities, and rural areas where people still need a clear Gospel witness.
Some places are growing faster than churches can be planted. Others have declining churches, changing populations, or very little access to strong Bible preaching.
National missions gives local churches the opportunity to pray for, support, encourage, and partner with those laboring to reach America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
BEYOND OUR OWN COMMUNITY
“...ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria...”
Acts 1:8 — KJV
NATIONAL MISSION PRIORITIES
Strengthening Gospel Work Across America
National missions can take many forms, but the Gospel and the local church remain central.
Church Planting
Help establish Bible-preaching local churches in communities that need a faithful Gospel witness.
Missionary Support
Pray for and support missionaries serving within the United States.
Gospel Evangelism
Support efforts that put the Gospel into homes, communities, cities, and regions.
Strengthen Churches
Encourage churches of like faith as they preach, disciple, serve, and reach their communities.
CHURCH PLANTING
New Communities Need Biblical Local Churches
A Gospel witness is strongest when it results in believers being gathered into a faithful local church.
Church planters often enter communities where there is no church of like faith, where population growth has created new ministry needs, or where existing churches are unable to reach the area.
National missions can help these men and their families through prayer, financial support, encouragement, resources, and practical partnership.
HOW SHALL THEY HEAR?
“And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”
Romans 10:14-15 — KJV
WHERE IS THE NEED?
Mission Fields Exist All Across the Nation
Growing Cities
Rapid growth can create neighborhoods with little access to a faithful local church.
Rural Communities
Smaller towns and rural areas may have limited Gospel-preaching churches nearby.
Changing Communities
Population shifts create new opportunities for outreach and church planting.
Underserved Regions
Some regions may have many religious institutions but very few churches clearly preaching the Gospel.
MISSIONARIES SERVING IN AMERICA
Missionary Work Is Not Only Overseas
Some missionaries are called to labor within the borders of the United States.
They may plant churches, serve in difficult or remote regions, reach specialized communities, work with military families, assist struggling churches, or carry the Gospel into places with little biblical witness.
These missionaries need the same things overseas missionaries need: faithful prayer, encouragement, financial support, and churches that stand behind them.
PARTNERING WITH CHURCHES OF LIKE FAITH
Stronger Together in Gospel Work
Independent local churches can still encourage and support one another without surrendering local church autonomy.
Churches can pray for one another, assist church plants, support missionaries, help with special meetings, provide resources, and encourage pastors and congregations.
National missions is one way local churches can look beyond themselves while remaining faithful to biblical church principles.
CHURCHES HELPING CHURCHES
Pray. Encourage. Support.
Healthy cooperation can strengthen Gospel work across the nation while preserving the responsibility of each local church.
HOW WE CAN PARTICIPATE
Pray. Give. Encourage. Go.
Pray
Pray for church planters, missionaries, pastors, open doors, and souls to be saved.
Give
Support national missionaries and church-planting efforts financially.
Encourage
Send messages, pray by name, receive missionary updates, and stand behind those serving.
Go
Be willing to help directly when opportunities arise and follow the Lord if He calls you.
PRAY FOR OUR NATION
National Missions Begins with Spiritual Concern
Our greatest national need is not merely political, economic, or social. People need Jesus Christ.
We should pray for Gospel preaching, strong churches, faithful pastors, church planters, missionaries, families, communities, and the salvation of the lost.
We desire to see God work through His Word in cities, towns, neighborhoods, and homes across America.
COULD GOD USE YOU HERE?
America Needs Laborers Too
Missionary calling does not always mean crossing an ocean.
God may burden someone to plant a church, assist a struggling congregation, serve a particular community, or carry the Gospel to another part of the nation.
Every believer should remain surrendered to whatever work the Lord may have for them.
