WORLD MISSIONS
To the Uttermost
Part of the Earth
Jesus Christ commanded His church to carry the Gospel beyond every border, language, and culture. We desire to help send and support faithful missionaries who preach Christ and establish biblical local churches around the world.
THE GREAT COMMISSION
Every Nation Needs the Gospel
The Gospel is not an American message. It is God's good news for every person in every nation.
World missions exists because millions of people still need to hear a clear presentation of who Jesus Christ is, what He has done, and how sinners can be saved.
Our responsibility is to pray, give, send, encourage, and remain willing to go so the Gospel can reach people far beyond our own community.
ALL THE WORLD
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15 — KJV
WHY WORLD MISSIONS?
Because Christ Is Worthy of Every Nation
World missions is not driven by adventure. It is driven by the command of Christ and the need of people who have not heard.
The Gospel Is Universal
Every person is a sinner, and every person needs the Saviour.
Christ Commanded Us to Go
Missions is obedience to the direct command of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many Still Have Not Heard
Entire communities and people groups still have limited access to clear Gospel preaching.
Churches Must Be Planted
Converts need discipleship, baptism, doctrine, and faithful local churches.
SENT THROUGH LOCAL CHURCHES
Missionaries Should Be Sent, Not Simply Self-Appointed
Biblical missions is rooted in the local church.
Missionaries should be known, examined, prayed over, supported, and sent by faithful local churches.
This provides accountability, doctrinal unity, prayer support, and a clear biblical connection between the missionary and the church that sends them.
The missionary is not independent of the local church; he is an extension of local church Gospel work into another field.
UNTO THE UTTERMOST
“...ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 — KJV
WHAT MISSIONARIES DO
Preach Christ. Make Disciples. Plant Churches.
The work may look different from field to field, but the biblical mission remains the same.
Preach the Gospel
Clearly explain sin, salvation, the death and resurrection of Christ, and the need for repentance and faith.
Disciple Believers
Teach new believers how to read Scripture, pray, obey Christ, and grow in doctrine.
Baptize Converts
Help saved people follow the Lord in believer's baptism by immersion.
Plant Local Churches
Establish biblical local churches that can worship, disciple, evangelize, and reproduce.
Train Leaders
Teach faithful men who can pastor, preach, disciple, and lead local churches.
Reproduce the Work
Healthy missions should lead to churches that eventually send and support missionaries themselves.
CROSS-CULTURAL MISSIONS
The Message Does Not Change
Culture changes. Language changes. Customs change. The Gospel does not.
Missionaries may need to learn another language, understand another culture, adapt to unfamiliar customs, and spend years building trust.
But they must never change the truth in order to make the message more acceptable.
Biblical missions communicates the unchanging Gospel clearly and faithfully in a way people can understand.
PRAY FOR MISSIONARIES
Missionaries Need More Than Money
Faithful prayer is one of the greatest ways a local church can support those serving abroad.
Pray for Protection
Ask God to protect missionaries physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Pray for Open Doors
Ask God to open hearts, relationships, villages, cities, and communities.
Pray for Boldness
Ask God to help missionaries preach Christ clearly and courageously.
Pray for Fruit
Ask God to save souls, grow believers, and establish churches.
GIVE TO MISSIONS
Giving Helps Keep Missionaries on the Field
Missionaries need churches that will stand behind them faithfully.
Financial support helps provide housing, transportation, ministry materials, language study, travel, church-planting expenses, and the ordinary needs of missionary families.
Faithful missions giving allows those who are called to go to remain focused on the work God has given them.
Every believer may not go overseas, but every believer can have a part in helping send the Gospel.

Missionaries Should Be More Than Names on a Board
We want the church family to know who our missionaries are and understand the work God has called them to do.
Read their letters. Learn their fields. Pray for their children. Remember their needs. Rejoice in answered prayer. Encourage them when they visit.
A strong missions program is built on real relationships, not merely monthly checks.
MISSIONARY PARTNERSHIP
Know Them. Pray for Them. Stand with Them.
This section can later hold missionary profiles, fields of service, prayer cards, and recent updates.
COULD GOD CALL YOU?
Be Willing to Go
World missions is not only about supporting someone else.
God may call someone from Rockwall Baptist Church to leave home, learn another language, enter another culture, and spend their life preaching Christ.
Every believer should be willing to say, “Lord, I am yours. Use me wherever you choose.”
The first question is not, “Do I want to be a missionary?” The first question is, “Am I surrendered to obey God?”
